This page explains what personal data we process when you buy from us, play our games or sign up for news, why we do it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We only process what we really need. We do not track your location and we never sell your data.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your personal data is:

For anything to do with your personal data, write to info@uniqni.cz.

2. Buying a game or a gift voucher

  • What data: your email address; the language of your purchase; what you bought, the price, the date and the payment status; billing details (name or company name, company ID, address), if you fill them in. For a voucher, also the personal message and the recipient’s email address if the voucher should go straight to them. We never see your card details – Stripe handles them.
  • Why: to sell you the game or voucher, send you your access or voucher, issue a receipt and deal with any complaint or withdrawal.
  • Legal basis: performance of the contract; for receipts, compliance with our legal obligations under accounting and tax law.
  • How long: for the validity of the access or voucher and then for as long as claims under the contract can be made. Receipts are kept for as long as accounting and tax law requires.

Emails about your purchase (your access, receipt and voucher) are not marketing, so we send them without asking for separate consent.

3. Playing the game

  • What data: the game code; the name or nickname you enter in the game; your progress (times, answers, hints used, points); a technical player and device identifier stored in the game app’s cookies; a shortened (hashed) record of your IP address that we use to limit attempts at entering codes. We do not track your location – you confirm your arrival at each place in the game yourselves.
  • Why: so that the game works, so that you can carry on after reloading the page, and so that codes cannot be misused by guessing or sharing.
  • Legal basis: performance of the contract; protecting codes from misuse is our legitimate interest.

4. News and “I want UNIQNI in my city”

  • What data: your email address, language, the city you are interested in, where you signed up (for example the website footer or an upcoming game), and the date and wording of your consent.
  • Why: to send you news – for example, to let you know when we open a game in your city.
  • Legal basis: your consent. After you fill in the form, we send you an email with a confirmation link valid for 48 hours. Until you confirm, we store nothing. You can also sign up at checkout – the box is unticked by default and the same email confirmation applies.
  • How long: until you withdraw your consent. You can unsubscribe with one click in every newsletter email, or just write to us.

5. Contact form and email

  • What data: your name, email address and message.
  • Why: so that we can reply.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions; if your question is about a purchase, performance of the contract.
  • How long: until your question is dealt with, and then.

6. Visiting the website

  • Statistics: we measure traffic with Umami, which uses no cookies. We only see totals – how many people came, where from, on what devices and which pages or buttons (such as “Buy”) they used. We cannot identify individual visitors from them.
  • Operation and security: the website is hosted by Vercel. When you visit, your IP address and technical details about your browser are processed for operation and security (server logs). We protect our forms against bots with a hidden field and a limit on submissions from one IP address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the website securely.

What the website stores in your browser is described on the Cookies page.

7. Who we share data with

We do not sell data. We share it only with processors who help us run the service, and only as far as necessary:

  • Stripe – payments and receipts,
  • Resend – sending emails (game access, vouchers, newsletter confirmations, news),
  • Vercel – hosting of the website and the game app,
  • Neon – the game app’s database,
  • Umami – cookie-free visitor statistics,

Where the law requires it, we also pass data to public authorities. Our accountant or tax adviser may see receipts.

8. Transfers outside the European Union

Some processors are based, or have servers, outside the European Union, mainly in the USA. We transfer data to them only with the safeguards required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

9. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • know what data we process about you and get a copy,
  • have inaccurate data corrected,
  • ask us to erase data we no longer need or process unlawfully,
  • ask us to restrict processing,
  • receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format (portability),
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest,
  • withdraw your consent at any time, for example by unsubscribing from news – processing before the withdrawal remains lawful,
  • lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz).

Just write to info@uniqni.cz. We reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest. So that we do not hand your data to someone else, we may ask you to confirm your identity – usually it is enough to write from the email address you used for your purchase.

10. Automated decision-making

We do not make automated decisions about you and we do not create profiles of you.

11. Security

The website and the game app use an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only we and the processors listed above have access to the data, and only as far as they need it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we start using a new tool. The date of the last change is shown at the top of this page.
