Buying and payment
By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You pay on Stripe's secure checkout page, so your card details never reach us. We do not accept bank transfers or QR code payments.
Per team, not per person. You pay once and play on 1–4 phones; several people can solve on one phone. You will find the current price with the game.
By email, straight after payment – usually within a few minutes. It contains your game code and a link where you enter it. No account or app needed. If you cannot see the email, check your spam folder.
Your game is valid for 12 months from purchase. Within that time you can set off on any day in daylight, except the closed days listed with the game. The clock only starts when you press Start on site.
Yes. A receipt is emailed to you automatically after every purchase, for games and vouchers alike. We are not VAT registered, so our prices are final. Need it made out to a company? You can add the company name and registration number at checkout.
Before the game
No. Buy the game whenever you like and play on any day in daylight – press Start at the starting point and off you go. The only exceptions are days when events in town make the route unavailable. They are listed with the game.
Yes – any day within the 12 months, in daylight. There is nothing to book; just turn up. Check first that your day is not among the closed days listed with the game.
Days when markets, festivals or other events block the route are listed with the game under “When you cannot play”. Your game stays valid – just come on another day.
You play on 1–4 phones. It is best when every player has their own phone, but several people can solve on one phone. The price is per team, not per person.
Yes. The Poet's Secret is fully available in English – the story, the tasks and the hints.
At the monument to the poet Uffo Horn in the City Park (Městský park) in Trutnov. You can park at the paid U Studny car park (Pražská 135), about 200 m from the park, or at weekends free of charge in front of the Bohuslav Martinů Hall (Úpická 520). Local bus: Na Struze stop. The game page also has a button that opens the start in your navigation app.
Allow 1.5–2 hours and 2 km on foot. The game ends near the bus station, close to the town centre. The clock only starts when you press Start on site.
Play in daylight – the clues are out in the streets and you cannot read them after dark. Set off with roughly two hours of daylight ahead of you.
A charged phone (ideally a power bank too), mobile data, comfortable shoes and something to drink. That is all – there is nothing to collect or return.
With a pushchair, yes – the few steps can be avoided. We do not recommend it for wheelchairs, though: the route has steps and a hill.
During the game
The game has your back. Every puzzle has a free tip first, then a hint and finally the solution. Hints and solutions cost points, but they always get you moving – you will reach the finish.
Together. Each role has its own gear and sees something the others do not – you crack the mystery by combining what you have. Who gets which role, you find out at the start.
No. The game guides you from place to place on its own and does not track your location – when you reach a spot, you confirm it on your phone yourselves.
You play outdoors, so if it rains, simply go another day – your game is valid for 12 months from purchase. Once you start it, though, play it in one go: allow 1.5–2 hours; the game is not meant to be finished on another day. Weather or not finishing is not a reason for a refund.
You can take a short break during the game – there are cafés along the route where you can stop, including for the toilet. But the game is designed to be played in one go: allow 1.5–2 hours. It is not meant to be finished on another day.
Yes. There are cafés along the route where you can stop, including for the toilet.
Children and families
We recommend The Poet's Secret from age 12; younger children solve together with a parent on the parent's phone. If you get stuck, the hints will get you to the finish.
Recommended from age 12; younger children solve together with a parent on the parent's phone. The route is 2 km on foot and fine with a pushchair – the few steps can be avoided. The difficulty is medium, for families and friends alike.
The game takes place in public space with everyday traffic, so children should be supervised by an adult. You are responsible for any children who play with you.
Technical problems
No. The game runs in your phone's browser, so there is nothing to install. Just open the link from your email, or tap “I have a code” on this website and enter your code.
Check your spam folder and other mail tabs first. If it still has not turned up after a few minutes, write to info@uniqni.cz from the address you used at checkout and we will send your access again.
Bring a charged phone and ideally a power bank. If a phone dies anyway, you do not lose your progress: once it is charged, open the game on the same phone and carry on where you left off.
The game runs in your browser, so it needs mobile data. If the signal drops for a moment, walk on a little and reload the game page – you carry on where you were.
Write to us straight away at info@uniqni.cz and tell us what is happening – a screenshot helps. If the fault is on our side, you get new access or your money back.
Gift vouchers
Yes, as a gift voucher. Choose a voucher for a specific game, or for any UNIQNI game – then the recipient picks the game. A voucher costs the same as the game. It arrives by email as a PDF; you can add a personal message, then print it or pass it on.
12 months from purchase. A voucher bought at the introductory price stays valid after the price goes up – the recipient pays nothing extra. After that it expires and cannot be exchanged for money.
The recipient enters the voucher code in the game via “I have a code” at the top of the page. A voucher for any game lets them choose the game. There is no date to pick – they play whenever it suits them, in daylight. Each voucher can be used once.
Refunds
Yes, as long as you have not started the game. You can withdraw within 14 days of purchase without giving a reason – just email info@uniqni.cz. We refund you the same way you paid. Pressing Start on site begins the game and ends the right to withdraw; we will remind you of this before you start.
When you withdraw from a game you have not started within 14 days of purchase, and always when the game does not work because of a fault on our side – for example, when part of the route is unavailable on a day that was not listed as closed. You then get new access or your money back. Weather or a closed day are not reasons for a refund – your game stays valid and you can come another time. An unfinished game is not a reason for a refund either.
Yes, within 14 days of purchase, as long as nobody has used it yet. Email info@uniqni.cz and we will refund you the same way you paid.
